Words of Affirmation

I once heard it said that the most important words to a woman are, "I love you." The most important words to a man are, "I'm proud of you." If your guy visibly responds to kind words and praise, he speaks Words of Affirmation. They cost nothing but mean everything.

Mail him a card a day for a week. Mail them to him at work, if you can.

Call him in the middle of the day to say, "I love you and I'm thinking of you. I want you to know I appreciate your hard work and all you do to provide for our family."

Leave love notes in odd places, such as the shower, in his car, or in his wallet.

Call a radio station and dedicate a song to him.

Take advantage of any opportunity to express your appreciation in front of others. Like when you're with a group of friends and the subject of men and their failings comes up, instead of joining the man-bashing with a story of how your guy failed, turn it around with an anecdote of how he saved the day or came through for you. Believe me, he'll notice and love you for it.

Hire a sky writer to make a message in the air.

Rent a billboard.

Send a "ransom" style note. Words and letters cut from a newspaper and glued on a letter.

Put a message in baked goods, like a fortune cookie.

Write a message on your bathroom mirror. Lipstick and dry erase markers work. If you time it just right, you can write on the steamed up mirror while he's in the shower.

Mail a different postcard each day for a week. The cards are puzzle pieces that spell out a message.

Send a singing telegram.

Write a message in frosting on a cake or cookies.

Put a message in a bottle.

Use your own creativity to come up with ways to shower him with Words of Affirmation. Let me know other ideas too.

Wow! Your ideas are wonderful, Carrie. It seems like there is still a way to bring back romance into our lives post-marriage. I am going to try lots of things and get back to you to share how it went.

THANKS!

+What a wise person you are, Carrie. I have done a few of the notes and they do work. But you have brought up some new and interesting ones. Thanks
