In response to: Easter Joys

Ahh, how wonderful! Thanks for sharing that. When we were raising our sons, we were always strapped for money and I understand your situation so well. But your children are happy and that's what counts.

You've got a great attitude, and your family will certainly pick up on it.

Blessings, Kath

In response to: Easter Joys

Kathy, thank you for this wonderful blog. We had no money to celebrate this Easter. Things somehow just went wrong and we could not even afford a proper meal. But Holidays are about enjoying with your family, aren't they? And we did just that. We baked lots of cupcakes as they were cheap to make. And we got some jelly beans and colored sprinkles and had all the kids decorate the cupcakes with homemade frosting and jelly bean 'eggs' and sprinkles. It was one of the best Easters of my life and I am grateful to God for it.

God Bless You!

In response to: Home again

Good question, Frances. I know in "my day" we never would have thought about moving back home with my parents! Yet, I'm glad he's comfortable in doing so right now because he needs us. He just needs to stay on course this time around! No veering off the path.

Thanks for the comforting words,
I've had adult children live with me. it's a lot easier when they're ten, believe me.
Right now, I'm learning to raise a teenager again. My 14-yr-old grandchild. How did the world get so different in such a short time.
Hey, I promise you'll survive and so will I. And so will they. :)

Kath, I used to hate the noise when I had kids. I was used to the tranquililty of my home. But now it's totally different. I have to agree with you. Home just not look like a home without all that noise!

In response to: Fleeting Time

I have a 'Memory Box' similar to yours, Clarissa. It has lots of little thingies, even a dried 'first rose' that my husband (who was my boyfriend then...lol) gave me. It also has little handmade cards and popsicle stick crafts given to me by my children.

That's awesome! I'm all about preserving those memories, no matter what form you use. We all do better with different methods, you know? I have a box from my high school days and I open it maybe once every two years. It's full of goodies just like you mentioned - old bubble gum wrappers my husband used to give me when I changed classes, old ticket stubs, old dried flowers, etc. I guess I might have to take and actually scrapbook some of those things sometime. I love to scrapbook and then my kids will know what each of those little things means when something happens to Mom and Dad!!!

Enjoy the day!! And, thanks for visiting here. Come back soon.

What a beautiful post! You are right. Times flies away so quickly. I take a lot of photos at every little occasion (or without any occasion as well). I have a digital camera and I do not print most of the photos. It feels wonderful to browse all the folders containing the pics after some time when we have forgotten about them.

Apart from photos, I have a 'Memory Bag'. In it you will find used movie or play tickets, airplane boarding passes, entry tickets to museums, parks etc., bus and train ride tickets, old greeting cards, little notes left here and there on several occasions, a yellowed, rough 'chart' of 70's songs that my husband made back when they were popular in order to geth them recorded in a cassette, special invitations etc. etc. etc. The list is very long. Every time I open the bag, it is like going down a beautiful memory lane.

In response to: Mysterious Babes

I have a 4-month old daughter and I fully agree with you! Sometimes, she is so tired that she just dozes off. At some others, she puts all her forces to work to AVOID going to sleep. Go Figure!
