Welcome to the DCW Beauty Blog!

It’s raining men!, (jk!), though it has been raining for days here in Melbourne Florida. I recently downloaded a collection of singles from Musicmatch - tunes that make you want to move! I now have a CD full of house cleaning and exercise music, one of the songs being “It’s Raining Men”, by The Weather Girls, that tells you a little about my age. I’m Pennie, and I look forward to many entries with all kinds of health & beauty tidbits, that I hope will be of interest to you.

I have been making Body Care Products and Spa Treatments, for over 11 years and enjoy experimenting with unique and natural ingredients. I love whipping up easy beauty concoctions with ingredients readily found in our kitchen and gardens, so let’s start off with one of those!

Spa-la-la Manicure and Pedicure Scrub

Ingredients:
2- 3 tbsp Sugar-any kind, white, brown, raw
Oil-just a bit-any kind, olive, sunflower, almond
1 tsp Honey
1/4 tsp. Cocoa Powder (optional)

Directions:
In a small bowl, gently mix sugars, cocoa powder (if desired) and honey. Drizzle in your oil of choice, just enough to make your desired scrub consistency, not too much, just a bit, mix. Apply to clean feet and hands using a circulation motion to exfoliate and moisturize, rinse and pat dry. Enjoy!

Take Care and enjoy life!

Thanks for the recipe. I am always looking for homemade beauty recipes. I have never used one that uses Cocoa Powder. Is it good for the skin?

Like Cocoa Butter, Cocoa powder is used in a variety of beauty products and is high in antioxidants. In this simple recipe, the fragrance of it, is an extra indulgence.

shiningstarz, I recently bought a soap from an online website which contains cocoa powder. It smells yummy! Give it a try.
