First Lady Michelle Obama surprised everyone by going for two relatively unknown designers to design her inaugration day outfits. After all the speculation that went behind what she will choose for the D day, Obama chose a yellow dress with a matching overcoat by designer Isabel Toledo (who has worked for Anne Klein previously) and a wedding dress style one-shoulder, floor length, white gown by designer Jason Wu for the Inaugral Ball.
For pictures and details of the dress, the gown and her chic hairstyle, see the related article on Dot Com Women:
Lipstick applying may seem like the easiest task, but there might be lots more that can be done than you know. Here are some of my favorite lipstick tricks:
1. Do not throw away lipsticks (gifted or bought by simply bad judgement) because their colors look awful or tacky. You might create a magical color by mixing them with some other lipstick.
2. Lipstick makes a fabulous blusher! Creamy lipsticks create a lovely glow on your cheeks. Rub your finger lightly on the lipstick and rub lightly on your cheeks in a circular motion.
3. Broken lipsticks? Happens to me all the time. Don't throw them away. Press them back together and store them in the refrigerator till they look fixed. Store them in cooler places to avoid breaking again.
4. Outlining the lips with a liner helps a lot but make sure the liner matches the lipstick or is a lighter shade unless you want to look like you are wearing a costume.
5. Use a whitening strip to avoid having your teeth look yellow in comparison to brown shades of lipsticks. Or simply avoid brown and orange shades.
6. For a warm and sexy look, choose a lipstick shade at least twice as dark as your natural lip color.
7. If going out in the day time, check your makeup in natural light before you head out.
8. A great lipstick mixing tip. Use a wet shine/liquid lipstick over your matte/creamy lipstick.
Do give them a try when you are applying lipstick next time!
